The Gillion Crowet Collection

The brainchild of Baron and Baroness Gillion Crowet, the prestigious Gillion Crowet collection dates back to the 1960s, a time when few art lovers and collectors were interested in art nouveau. Illustrating the encounter of the fine arts and decorative arts at the turn of the 20th century, it is made up of more than 230 works from that glorious period of Belgian art. It should be seen as a work of art in its own right and as a shining example of the bustling creative climate of the time, when Brussels was Europe’s cultural hub and in close contact with Paris and Nancy.  Many artists are represented in this amazing collection, including Majorelle, Gallé, Mucha, Wolfers, Cros and Horta. Also featured are works by Belgian Symbolist painters such as Delville and Khnopff.
